When they first opened, the idea of something to eat in the middle of the night that doesn't involve roti or maggi was a welcomed surprise. Who would have thought that a 24hour bakery would do well enough to open few more branches in Klang Valley? Their design is clean and simple with a slight hint of cuteness. Originating from Taiwan, it appeals to the younger generations.
As part of their opening, they ran a promotion which caused a commotion on social media. I can't recall the details but you could get a substantial discount for purchases around midnight or so. That certainly worked because people were just flocking to their shop to grab whatever they could. Ordinarily, I would too but Kota Damansara isn't known for its ample parking space and it didn't feel safe to venture out that late at night alone.
However, I did make the trip sans discount and grabbed this one. The croissant was quite small and nothing special about it. Flaky? Nope. Crunchy? Just a wee bit on the outside. Airy? Ok la. Impressed? Maybe at the price because it certainly wasn't worth it.
PMS-ing me decided to indulge in a carb feast and bought this. Mainly because it had rainbow sprinkles 🌈
It was a plain bun coated with chocolate and a line of sprinkles. The bread wasn't great. Or that could have been attributed to me eating it the following day. The chocolate was the cheap type, a bit too sweet. Honestly, its' only saving grace is the colorful sprinkles. Again, it wasn't that cheap for a plain chocolate bun.
Unconvinced, I did give it another try. True enough, most of their stuff here are more of a novelty. The taste isn't that impressive for the prices that they are charging. Perhaps I'll give their bestsellers a shot next time. If I could justify parting with my hard earned money for it.
