Review: Never Let Me Go

Not sure how this ended up in my possession as it looked quite boring. Sorry but I am not a fan of Andrew Garfield aka Mr Spiderman. If anything, he looked rather stupid in this movie which is rather apt for his character. The true star of this story is most certainly Carey Mulligan, last seen in The Great Gatsby where it made me despise her for being a whiny little cunt. Knightley plays a pivotal role in the story development but there's no mistaking that Mulligan is the heroine in this story.

Thankfully, Mulligan's puppy eyes and damsel-in-distress expression are much suited for this role where she takes the backseat but shone outright with her portrayal of the friend who was betrayed. The movie itself doesn't scream at you. In fact, it starts of with a whimper. And ends just with that. Yet, it does leave you with a rather uneasy feeling if that is one possible future that we are looking at in the name of survival.

The movie doesn't quite answer if the premise of it is ethical as it shifts its focus onto the (triangle) love story. If you can't take slow movies that doesn't quite build up to a climax, don't bother. But if you are looking for a slow moving that keeps you wondering what exactly the bigger picture is, this may be one to keep you guessing.
