For a period of time, I was going gaga over fish head noodles. There is just something comforting in a bowl of milky, slightly sourish noodle soup with a spicy chilli sauce. Moon Kee is one of the newer players and it was always crowded during lunch time so I thought it would be nice to give it a shot.

As with most places, the menu is pretty limited to the part of the fish you want but they do have the clear soup version here too. For me, the decision boiled down to: which is cheapest?

Some people don't like the milk taste but I find it works well with the tomato and pickled vegetables. They were rather generous with the noodles though the soup flavor was lacking something and it tasted slightly watered down. It was quite a letdown especially when a friend recommended it. Maybe next time I shouldn't take his recommendation so seriously.

Deep fried fish. I know it's deep fried. I know it's bound to be bland on its own which is why you dunk it in the soup or have it with the noodle. Why did they see the need for few dashes of soy sauce? T_T Apart from that, the pieces of fish were quite big without much bones. The accompanying chilli sauce was as expected, spicy. For RM 12, you do get your money's worth with the fish but the soup was a bit of a letdown.
