Occupying a seemingly jinxed shoplot, Takashi opened not too long ago. Offering authentic Japanese food, the menu has the usual (Japanese) suspects. Prices are from mid to above midrange. However, they also offer sets that're quite value for money.

 Sushi udon gozen RM 25.90
This is the sushi part of the set. I was rather impressive with this as their menu was nowhere as good. The seafood was fresh and rice nicely flavored though it did feel a bit too compact, if it makes sense. I stole took the tune and squid ones, both were just bursting with flavor. It would be interesting to see how their sashimi tastes like.

Udon is the main but it doesn't come with any meat. A rather vegetarian affair. Don't worry, the soup doesn't taste bland at all and there are enough of seaweed to go around.

 Saba shioyaki gozen RM 17.90

No Japanese set would do without giving you some salad. Crunchy and sweet from the thousand island sauce, it would have been better if they used the sesame dressing instead. This is probably the only salad I've had in about 2months time. Doctor's order 😔

Rice and miso soup. The former is the Japanese type but the latter tasted the kind made from paste.
Despite being part of a set, they did give quite a bit of rice that I almost couldn't finish it.

Grilled fish.
What makes Japanese grilled fish so special?
Is it the fish used? But they do taste like our normal ikan kembung.
Could it be in the marinade? Unlikely unless you count salt as one.
Maybe it all just boils down to the cooking method because this is not oily and very appetizing with rice.

Please do give this place a try because it's rather good and prices (for the set, at least) is very reasonable. I don't want it to get closed down like its predecessors.
