Noble Mansion, Plaza 33

My last visit here was few years ago but it left me with a good enough impression that I favored this over Ming Room. Also partly because this felt more suited for a family lunch.

As my father's birthday falls in February, it almost always coincide with the CNY season. Which calls for lou sang 😊 Okla, I don't really need a reason to lou sang but I do need a legitimate reason to ask 6people to eat with me. How odd would it be to invite 6 people whose only common connection is yourself for a meal?

One thing's for sure, my photo taking skill is still the same (if not worse). 😂Must make sure that my day job is safe.

We were given a private room. Not sure if it was by request or luck but that was a good idea as there was quite a lot of commotion going on outside. Despite the lunch hour, evidently some people see no reason required to get drunk and start singing Chinese oldies at 2pm. Their peanuts also came in individual packs. Already they make me feel quite luxurious ♕

This year saw most of the lou sang  to be on the mediocre side. Has my yee sang obsession ended its run or have I just not met the one?

Salmon yee sang. We didn't take any of their CNY set menu but did order their CNY special dishes.

Added golden crispy enoki mushroom for RM 14. It's funny when you think of how a pack of 3 would cost less than RM 10. But, it's worth the crunchiness. I have to say that while the yee sang is definitely not those instant ready made type, there weren't as much fresh ingredients used. Sure, it does taste better than others, maybe I was expecting a bit more?

Roast chicken with crispy 'huai shan' (脆玉淮山吊燒雞) RM 55
Compared to Tanglung's, this one is leaps and bounds better. Came with sweet chili sauce too. Although the skin isn't very crispy, the meat is well marinated. We couldn't really tell what those small fried bits are though 😅

Chef's special crispy pork trotter  (德國脆皮豬手) RM 88
A rather weird one for a Chinese restaurant. I find that it was a bit too dry. Although they did pour some gravy over, it pooled to the bottom of the bowl and no spoon was provided. So, my piece ended up being dry. It has a hint of the onion and bell pepper. Not much of the usual brown/mushroom/black pepper sauce.

Braised stuffed beancurd with dried oysters, three varieties mushroom & bonito flake (跳舞發財豆腐) RM 48
Not your run-of-the-mill tofu this. There's some vegetable on top of the egg tofu. A simple dish made extravagant.

Boston lobster with radish cake & XO Sauce topped with crispy fish skin (金衣波士頓龍蝦蘿卜糕) RM 368
Fried fish skin is good. Lots of fried fish skin is better. All that with salted egg yolk is heavenly 😍There wasn't much lobster compared to the skin. Maybe I was expecting too much.

The lobster was huge and definitely fresh. Radish cake was questionable. It had a thick, almost rubbery texture. Kinda like orh nee. Which I don't like. It's an acquired taste.

Steamed rice with braised pork belly & Chinese sausage (宋嫂臘腸碟仔飯) RM 68
The rice isn't pictured here but it came in a big claypot. You can taste the meat in the rice. If not, this platter should do the trick. We were really stuffed by then so this was a bit wasted on us. A bit salty on their own but pairs well with the rice.

Longevity noodle because no senior citizen's birthday do is complete without one of these. And in true Chinese tradition, you cannot cut the noodles. The gravy is of mushroom base with a hint of meat. Noodles were cooked just right without being too soft.

No meal with kids is complete without something cute. According to my sister at least.

They are just lotus paste filling with salted egg yolk bun. The yolk is fairly small in the sweet paste. A sweet ending indeed.
