When Atria first (re)opened, it was full of hope. After all, the entire place was torn down and redeveloped into a mixed commercial lot. I myself recall of the old mall with the somewhat underground Giant that has seen better days. When it reopened, the old tenants are gone and in come the new ones such as this.
A tea lounge 🍵, not unlike TWG, it currently occupies a small space that houses a makeshift kitchen and tea bar with few tables for customers. Don't take my word on TWG though because I still haven't gotten a chance to try it out 😢
If you are looking for an afternoon date, this is a good choice. But if your date is only into caffeine in the form of coffee, give it a miss as they only carry tea.
The place oozes that English charm that plays on the tea theme perfectly. It's almost unbelievable that there's a quiet corner in this mall where you can sit to enjoy your cup of tea though the mall itself isn't exactly that crowded to begin with.
Test tube babies? Well, no.
They have quite a plethora of tea selection that it is almost mind numbing. Different leaves provide different effects. There are the more common ones such as chamomile but wouldn't it be more worth it to try something that's more unique/exotic? It is unfortunate that I personally am not a big fan of (Western) tea as most of what I've had so far turned out to be too black. Maybe it's just the Earl Grey and English breakfast that is not suited for my palette.
It's nice that they gave us lemon water despite not ordering any tea. We were here for dinner and tea at this hour on a weekday is slightly suicidal. When they first opened, they had dinner sets but I don't think they still do anymore.
Rosemary chicken RM 21.90: grilled chicken thigh, mashed potato, garlic butter spinach, asparagus.
We weren't expecting much but this turned out better than we thought. The chicken was cooked till tender, flavors were good, not too heavy. The mashed potato was rather creamy.
Mussels pot RM 18.90: mussels braised in special garlic butter sauce, served with toast
Apart from the fact that the toast was just an ordinary slice of bread with the crust cut and spread with some butter and then toasted, the mussels were great. Not exactly overcooked, the gravy was marvelous and complemented the seafood well. It was quite worth it as there were quite a bit of the mussels and each were fresh and juicy.
Trivia: this place was opened by the same people who brought you Oyster King. Or at least one half of them.
