Lust, Caution

Having heard how there were quite a lot of graphical scenes in this movie, I put it off for the longest of time. So yes, it took me a few years before giving it a shot.

Not quite your romance movie, there is a decent plot running in there. Honestly, the sex scenes were almost unnecessary as the story was rich enough to carry itself through. But, art must prevail, much to the happiness of men all over. As a woman, it did almost feel like an art but not quite. I can't compare it to porn as I have not watched enough to make such a comparison.

Tang Wei is pretty good though her character is more of a tsundere. As a newcomer (then), her performance was rather convincing even in those scenes. Lee Hom somehow carried over his good boy charm from his music into his acting. Am I the only one who thinks that his hairstyle (today in real life) needs a major update?

Tony Leung is the quiet star of the movie. When I say quiet, he really doesn't have that many lines yet has a sizeable screen time doing other stuff. Like Tang, he played his character well but having watched him in almost all of Wong Kar Wai's work, his character here felt too brutish for him but he was convincing.
