Review: Oyster King, One Utama

LGK-113, LG Floor

I love oysters. A lot. Not for its aphrodisiac property.  Simply because it's delicious. Its slightly runny texture, slightly chewy. Thus, I snapped up this GroupOn deal to give this place a try. For a Klang born bred lass, my experience with this seafood comes in the form of oh jien or oyster omelet. The key to a great version lies in the freshness of the seafood and crispiness of the egg. Some places tend to cheat by putting in more starch to give the illusion of more oyster. Like how WonderBra works.

At RM 11.80, you get a bowl of rice drizzled with soy sauce and a serving of the omelet. I like how they fried it up until they becomes crispy bite sizes. While the flavors here are notable, the portion pales in comparison to what you'd get in Klang. Freshness wise, it wasn't goddamn fresh but not bad either. You do get close to what Klang offers and makes for a passable replacement if you find Klang too far to drive too.
