Rosehip & salted plum RM 13: rose tea, lemon juice and salted plum
If Ribena and kat chai shun mui got married, it would result into this. Neither too sweet nor sour, it's a refreshing drink for those hot days.
Barley lime RM 7
We ordered a jug of this for RM 19 and it could easily fill up 5 glasses. Quite worth it as it was on the thick side with a hint of citrus and pandan.
Nasi Campur RM 37: combination of Balinese grilled lemongrass prawns, squid, fish, beef rendang, sate lilit, served with Lawar Kacang (beans salad), rempeyek (anchovy crackers), sambal erasi and sambel matah
Thankfully, I don't have to come up with that caption as it's on their menu. This is one of their more extravagant items, sort of like a surf-and-turf dish. Most of the protein are grilled so it's quite healthy. Portion is big and definitely can be shared among two small eaters. You can taste the grill flavor in the seafood, some unfortunately a bit more charred than the rest. The prawn wasn't so fresh but at least the squid wasn't rubbery. As for the side dishes, they don't have bold flavors so it kinda goes with the theme here.
Siap Mepanggang RM 31: BBQ chicken with spicy coconut sauces
A little tamer than the previous one, the chicken is still a huge piece and not to be taken lightly. Somehow, with everything going on, it was difficult to finish this alone in one seating that I had to take away half the chicken for another meal. Still, it left me feeling quite full. As to satisfied, that's debatable. The side dishes here are pretty standard despite whatever you may order from their Best of the East section. The bean salad has an earthy tone. The kangkung isn't spicy despite that chili (probably for show only). The sambals were a bit spicy but not to the Thai level.
Es campur RM 15: Balinese iced blended with sago, jackfruit, banna, honeydew, watermelon and sweet shredded coconut
In true old fashioned kiasu Malaysian, we wanted to get this for free as they were having some promotion. Somehow, the god of technology wasn't on our side (ironically since 90% at our table are techies) and we failed to qualify. Luckily enough, the lunch sponsor happily ordered it for us anyway. It was sadly a bit too sweet but the coconut was an interesting touch with its crunchy texture.
