Tea & croissant: A last look at the Louvre

Ok ok, the last post on possibly the world's most famous museum.

Winged Victory of Samothrace. This was quite a big deal as people flocked to the top of the staircase to catch a glimpse of it.

Part of  a door. Maybe Rodin? Or maybe not.

It was much later on that colors were introduced into the artwork. Either that or we walked the museum in the wrong sequence 😂

The statues also took on a different hue.

There was a special section where you can touch the statues to understand better the work at hand. No pun intended.

This was a particularly eerie one for me personally. It was located at a secluded corner and we were the only ones there. Not even a guard was looking inside.

The statue looked so realistic that I was half expecting it to blink and return my impolite stare.

It was quite unfortunate that we spent too much time at the art galleries and missed out on other exhibitions on our way out.

Lets just say that the Louvre is not a place that you would want to get locked up in. Not with the mummies and sarcophagus and busts. I am sure it will be nothing at all like the movie.

If you want to visit, do come in the morning or before lunch. Check out their schedule as they are closed on certain days while open longer on some.

You probably didn't enjoy this e-visit so might as well just go there yourself 😋
