Touted as having the best steak in town, I think this used to be one of those places our parents would bring us for special occasions. Or at least I would dress up because eh, it's Western food ok.But now, The Ship is like a living relic because though everyone has moved on to more modern approach, they decided to stick to their roots. Somehow, that formula must be working because they are not only still in business but doing well enough that you have to wait for a table if you came in without a reservation.

Once we were seated and ordered, we were served with a warm bread and butter. Not your dinner bun/roll but a little something softer and buttery.

I don't know why he would order fish in the restaurant that serves the best steak in town but that he did. Generally speaking, I don't particularly like or dislike fish but this one was a little difficult to accept. There is no texture as the fish is soft and that top layer of cheese is almost as soft. Almost like a total mush. Flavor wise, there wasn't any strong element, almost bland.

Can't quite recall which cut this was but it was rather thin, almost well done though I did order it to medium. For its claim of the best steak, it was disappointing to say the least. Dry on the inside and not much of flavor going on.
