Fresco @ Jaya Grocer, Empire Subang
When Jaya Grocer first started, their core business was in supermarket. Seeing how well received they are, they expanded into the F&B which makes sense. I mean, how fresh can your food get by buying them and having it cooked at the same place?
Btw, these dessert pictures are for illustration purposes only 😁They look so pretty, begging to take a photo of.
There are few Jaya Grocers with Fresco but not all of them are doing well. This particular one is the better one with the place packed at dinner hour. The MO here is simple. Buy your meat/seafood from them and bring it over here where they'll cook it for you. Obviously, they do charge you a little extra for the cooking service but imagine being able to pick your choice cut and dictate how you want it cooked (to a certain degree). Best of all, no need to clean up yourself.
Or if you want to save yourself the hassle, they have a ready menu as well.
Spaghetti fresco RM 23.90
The pasta was cooked al dente with the fresh and juicy seafood. Portion is quite large and can be shared among two small eaters.
Pizza bolognaise RM 27
Imagine bolognaise but on a pizza. Hard but it sort of works. Luckily, they used a thin crust pizza so no thick bread to chew through. Love the cheese but wished there were more along with the sauce.
Garlic mashed potato RM 7.50
Since we were still hungry, we added this. All the years of eating KFC's scoopful of mashed potato didn't prepare me for a gigantic bowl of them. Although it was well mashed, I think it could use with a bit more of butter.
