Nasi Lemak Lah, PJ SS2

Can you guess what this is? Yes, it's the key ingredient to any good nasi lemak: Sambal.
I do like those that has onion and ikan bilis in them. Of course, it must also be spicy enough for the rice to really bring those flavors out.

They took over a rather prime location from a rather pioneer seafood bucket joint that sadly, I never got a chance to try. Just like their name, their menu focused mostly on nasi lemak with some other choices if nasi lemak ain't your thing (then you poor thing).

Everything (or almost) is nasi lemak except with different type of meat. You get a bowl of fragrant rice, a good amount of fried ikan bilis with peanuts, half a hard boiled egg, slices of cucumber and a small serving of sambal. The meat is overall quite small portion in the few that we ordered.
Beef rendang was not bad, if the meat wasn't overcooked.

Curry mutton is probably the best in terms of the meat cooked just right and at the right level of spiciness.

Curry chicken wasn't bad either. They all do have that distinct coconut milk taste to them so it was great with the hot rice. The sambal is a bit sweet so I had a hard time juggling between that and the meat sauce. So torn between both as I want to taste them both.

Curry cabbage and that's about it. Nothing fancy, just a bowl of cabbage in curry. No meat whatsoever. You gotta either really hate nasi lemak or love cabbage for this.
