Do you know what doesn't necessarily take two? Raising a kid. Or two.
Do you know what having a kid don't require? Being married.

she may be on her way to pick up her kids now. so maybe the call won't be on. 
wow, i should say that i have to pick up my kids too.
since when do you have kids? since when you got married? 
since when does one need to be married to have kids? what generation are we living in now?
