Having heard of this joint but never tried it before, their RM 29.90 promotion certainly came at a good time. For that price, you get pasta with fresh seafood. The portion looked sizable and like any other typical Malaysian Chinese, I joined onto the bandwagon to grab some of those goodies.

For a Friday night, it was surprisingly not so busy though there wasn't any seats left inside so we took up a table outside where there was clearly a No Smoking sign but people still smoked behind me, making my nose and throat itch. To be honest, I don't care much about folks smoking but when your damn smoke blows my way and makes me wanna cough, that ain't cool ok?

Mineral water is at RM 3.90 a bottle. At least they were kind enough to bring us two nice glasses with ice cubes in them.

Golden Fried Shrimp RM 15.90 - succulent shrimp hand breaded with our signature batter, fried to golden brown. Served with chili sauce.
The shrimps weren't dry despite being deep fried. The batter isn't thick, like the Chinese version of fried squid that's all batter and minuscule squid. However, there was no sauce to be seen. Despite being an appetizer, this came in last too. I was thinking that the sauce is at the bottom of the glass but there was none to be found. The lettuce was shockingly fresh and crunchy, that much I give them points for.

Lobster bisque RM 16.90 - Rich and creamy, served with a side of garlic bread.
Please enjoy this very professional looking shot (for once on this blog). Although a cup portion to be shared among the two of us, it ended up being quite filling. Partly because it was a bit too salty to consume everything by one. Such a waste as the lobster flavor was quite strong and it didn't taste too fishy. There were bits of lobsters in there as well. Sorry, my palate isn't refined enough to tell if it came out of a can but it did taste like it was made from scratch.

Bar Harbor lobster pasta RM 69.90 RM 29.90 - roasted split Maine lobster tail, tender shrimp, scallops, mussels and linguini in a savory broth with a hint of lemon
Although the lobster isn't those big gigantic ones where the claw can rival the fist of a baby, these were still rather fleshy. Unsurprisingly, this dish arrived at the table first. I'm guessing they already knew people would be flocking over just to try out this promotion (which has now ended).

All the seafood were cooked just right, none to the point of overdone rubbery texture. Fresh and succulent, this dish was certainly worth the promotion price but not so the original price. The pasta itself was tossed in olive oil with light touch of pesto. These all worked out utterly well that I almost couldn't believe my mouth that something so delightful has passed thru it.

To be honest, if this meal alone is a sign of things that Red Lobster does on a regular basis, it's great but the prices are slightly off-putting. Maybe I should just learn to catch my own damn seafood and cook them myself.
