Review: Hungry&Thirsty (H&T), PJ Seapark
If not for OffPeak, we wouldn't have discovered this offbeat pub/bar located in an off-the-track path of Seapark. I know my humor is rather off but so is everything else about me.
Initially, we were a little skeptical if we were sent on a wild goose chase for an already-closed down restaurant but it turned out that the pub is located not in the main area of Seapark but behind it. For a Sunday night, the place was relatively barren with music blaring from the speakers inside. There were few other tables but it is hard to imagine anyone would want to come here (it was the only shop open in that row) and there's a vast open space before you hit the residential houses. Robbers/muggers could easily come riding in and be gone before you know it.
Maybe we are more mellowed on Sunday nights so we don't go out drinking on Sunday nights. Fortunately, H&T does more than drinks. They offer Western food along with the usual beer grub. This is their long island tea at less than RM 15. For a lousy drinker such as moi, it did give me a good kick.
Fish and chips RM 25
I was half expecting them to use those frozen pre-made fish fillets but they actually used proper fish and it was a rather thick slice. Two to boot. A nice deep fried batter on the outside, soft fish on the inside. While I can't say for sure how fresh it is, they didn't taste bad at all.
Beef burger set ~RM 25
The fries were freshly fried as it arrived at the table still sizzling hot and there is nothing as wonderful as that. I visited McDonald's few times hoping to catch them at the right time when their fries just came out but to no avail =(
The salad was also fresh, no sign of wilting.
The burger itself was quite big. While it isn't as creative as MyBurgerLab's, the flavors are just right and the streaky bacon was heavenly even though it was difficult to sink your mouth into the burger and get all that in a single bite. Well, my mouth's not big, what can I say? Juice from the patty made eating this messy but if you are out on a date, just avoid burgers in general, OK? Unless you have already gone past the stage of make-believe.
