Jaya Palace, Wisma LYL

They aren't the cheapest in town but Imbi Palace group certainly knows how to deliver better than-your-street-side joints. Take their char siew pao for starters. The bun tends to stick to the top of your mouth but has an airy texture to it.

Steamed fish paste don't come with the usual fishy taste.

Beef meatball has enough of that pungent meat flavor to pique your interest.

Steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce has a delicate touch, so that you don't feel so guilty eating all that skin.

Stir fry carrot cake with eggs that have been fried till crispy. That's really the best part of this imho.

Pan fried shrimp roll is an unusual dish. Not crunchy, just slightly springy from the fresh juicy prawns.

A very unusual rendition of sang chow or fried glutinous rice. It has the sweetness of the waxed meat and not so much of the dried shrimp that you usually get.All good, thanks to the shredded omelet.

Steamed village chicken. Silky smooth. Tastes good.
Egg tarts because we don't do longan jelly or the likes for dessert dim sum. Baked until crispy and golden, how better to mark the end of brunch than these sunshines?
