What's not to like about free flow of meat, vegetable and drinks? When the price you pay isn't worth it 💸 If you're the kind who can eat a lot (meat in particular), then BBQ Town is one place that you want to go when you're feeling extra ravenous. Despite my best effort of doing a very grueling exercise and not having breakfast, I don't think I got my money's worth here. Old age is catching up to me. As you can tell from its tagline, you can either BBQ or boil (shabu shabu) the food. It's the same concept as BarBQ Plaza except in buffet format.
The veggie and meat spread. The variety here is good with few different choices of greens, mushroom, seafood and meat. Apart from the veggie, everything else is of frozen variety. There were few different meat balls too.
While waiting for the food to cook, indulge in some sushi. Rather small compared to the main buffet but enough to keep you from becoming hangry. Don't expect awesome sushi though.
They also have a separate ala carte menu that included this Thai-style fried chicken wing. Not wanting to deprive someone of their wings (and paying for that), I called for the waiter. Turned out that this was part of the buffet too. But only one. I think. It was really juicy with crispy skin. A tad bit of sweet sesame sauce.
Rest assured, this place is halal so no pork. Apart from us, the rest of the tables were Malay 😄I think the Chinese do prefer to go to Suki-ya.
Free flow of beef, lamb and chicken slices. If you know your money's worth (and do a fair bit of grocery shopping), common sense would tell you to order only beef and lamb because those usually cost way more than chicken. The meat were sliced thinly enough to cook fairly quickly on the BBQ plate. Of course, you could also cook it in the soup but ours were constantly filled with shredded cabbage. Plus it was a little too shallow to do proper shabu shabu in the mini soup drain.
Overall, not a bad place to indulge in quantity if you're not looking for top notch quality. Not the freshest ingredients but fresh enough not to puke and maybe slightly enjoyable too.
