A special occasion calls for a special place. But to the average Joe, Tony Roma is probably no big deal. The place was relatively empty but service was questionable.Given the price and service charge, it ruined things for us a bit.
Melodrama aside, they gave us warm bread with garlic butter to start off with. A nice touch since we were starving after a day of ice skating. Or more like me trying to skate by holding on to the sides.
BBQ 1/2 CHICKEN: A juicy, half chicken basted in TR's Original™ BBQ sauce and charbroiled. Served with French fries and coleslaw.
It's silly to order chicken in a place famous for their ribs but that my date did. To be honest, it was kinda dry and ordinary. Maybe Nandos is better too.
BIG STACK BURGER: A juicy, grilled all-beef burger, piled high with crisp beef bacon, Cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato and Dijon mustard.
Not wanting to appear high maintenance, I ordered their burger. Unsure of what to expect, it ended up being quite big.
The bun was surprisingly soft with a slightly toasted inside. Meat patty was done well as in it was cooked just right, no rubbery texture and still juicy to the core. Overall, the burger wasn't too dry despite not being slathered with sauce/gravy.
I think I may come here again, solely for their burgers.
