It looked like a new joint in town but it turned out to be me who just hasn't been to this mall for awhile as Vermicelli Kong has been opened since March 2017 (if their Facebook page is accurate). As the shop was rather small, there isn't a lot of tables so it was lucky we managed to get a table as another customer was leaving. However, the food still took awhile to arrive and we attributed that to them still being new (turned out that their service is just slow in general). Their menu allows for customization of your noodles. There's the usual spicy/non-spicy with different choices of meat. Prices range from RM 12 up to RM 15. You can also add on more items to make it a more filling meal but the original portion is kinda large. Mainly noodle (which you can't pick btw), less so the meat.
I think this soup is their signature flavor. There's a light meat taste to it. The slices of luncheon meat were not that thick or pre-fried, definitely meant as a healthy option. It also came with some veggie and bean curd skin.
Since this was my breakfast and lunch, I ordered extra golden mushroom which was pointless because it got lost with all the peppercorns and pickles 😂That is me figuratively laughing till tears rolling out and literally crying because it was so goddamn spicy. Think of it as the turbo version of Chong Qing noodle. Like you crazy ah, or you got a peppercorn plantation ah that you must put so much into a bowl!?!??!
Fortunately (or not), typical of Chong Qing noodle, this will also numb your mouth so you may end up not feeling anything after while but still question the sweat beading at your forehead. Personally, the noodle texture was great. Soup was awesome. The pork slices were thin and had a good fat-meat ratio. Almost the perfect bowl of noodle but the pepper was almost a literal killer.
