It's funny how we would usually go to their Wisma LYL branch but not this. I think it's partly due to the distance from Klang, so it may seem quite far away. For mother's day, we came here for lunch because can you think of anywhere else that won't charge you more?

Prawn dumpling or har gao RM 8.80
The skin was rather thin with delicate folds. However, the filling wasn't as good, not big juicy prawn.

Pork dumpling or siu mai RM 8.80
These didn't reek of the usual pork meat so that's good. You can even taste bits of prawn in there, certainly tastes better than it looks.

Steamed fish ball or yu mai RM 7.80
No fishy taste here and it wasn't very chewy. Depending on your preference, you may find that this doesn't have a lot of bounce though I do like it with more fish, if that makes sense?

Steamed chicken glutinous rice RM 8.80
Rarely have I come across a loh mai kai that wasn't too sticky with a pungent pork taste. It baffled me as a kid as to why my father dubs this his must-order dish during dim sum outings. Turned out that I've been having bad loh mai kai most of the time. This was pleasantly not too sticky though it could do better.

Steamed beef ball RM 8.80
Another acquired taste, I did enjoy the bean curd skin though.

Steamed chicken feet with black bean sauce RM 6.90
Another one of those things that I've never learnt to appreciate.

Rice roll with barbecued pork or chee cheong fun RM 8.80
Quite a disappointment presentation. At least the taste kinda made up for it. The rice roll wasn't too thick. A little better than those open air joints but not good enough to have paid almost RM 10 for.

Curry salmon fish head RM 15
As we were there pretty late for breakfast, there really wasn't much salmon left, mostly bones which were delicious as they had been deep fried until you can bite and eat them. The curry was rich with coconut milk. Perfect with mantao.

Stuffed mixed bean curd or yong tau foo RM 12
Also a little better than the kopitiam  offering but again, to pay RM 4 per piece is not worth it.

BBQ pork platter RM 32
Their sweet roast pork or char siew  was mediocre with a good ratio of meat to fat but lacking that caramelized factor that melts in your mouth. Roast pork or siu yuk was the highlight as it not only had that good meat-fat ratio, they roasted it until the skin was ultra crispy without being too salty. Certainly worth the 1km (minimum) run to burn the calories off.

Salted egg yolk lava bun RM 7.50

Even if you're not into salted egg yolk, order it for the sake of looks alone. I mean, look at that. Cute or what??!?

If you're not into lao sar pao, man, you really don't know what you're missing out on. Like, for starters, it's salted egg yolk. How could you not like that? Then it comes in near liquid form, that it just oozes into your mouth. Not many thing can claim that. At least not in a family friendly setting.

Malay sponge cake or malai kou RM 6.90
Not many places prepare it in this traditional method where the cake is steamed in a larger tray before it's cut into smaller portions. I love the bits of seed on top. No longer crunchy but still nice with the fluffy cake. This one isn't as airy but it's difficult to find any place that still do it like they used to .

Fried sweet potato sesame ball RM 7.80
Kinda like the conventional lotus paste version except the skin is not as crunchy and the filling is definitely not sticky. It feels like a healthier version of the sesame ball but I'm sure that's an error on my judgement.

Osmanthus cake RM 6.30

Apparently this looks like a tesseract. Maybe. Just a bit. Definitely tastes better than it. Slightly sweet and a wee bit of crunch from the flowers.
