Few years ago, there were rumors about the cleanliness of this particular branch of Sakae Sushi that people started sharing it on social media. Next thing you know, there was a boycott.
But that's a few years ago. And I'm not keen on going back to Sushi King for cheap affordable sushi.

 Sausage sushi roll topped with mango.
Definitely for the kids.

 Sweet bean curd skin sushi.
Although they managed to keep the prices the same, the portion has gotten remarkably smaller. Luckily, I don't like this much so I don't care.

 Grilled corn skin sushi. Perched on top of a bed of sushi rice and held together with a piece of seaweed, this does feel a bit more like a dessert, thanks to the sweet corn. Also not a fan of corn but it was interesting.

 Crab stick salad gunkan sushi.
Mayo? Checked. Crunchy seaweed? Checked. Delicious? You bet.

 Soft shell crab hand roll. I do love it when they serve this fresh with the crab still hot, contrasting against the cold rice and mayo. The sad thing is the seaweed usually starts to lose its crunchiness so must finish this pronto.

 Another kid-friendly sushi.
Growing up, my parents rarely take me to fast food joints or even sushi. But we do go out and try proper restaurants during the weekend.

 'Sharkfin' with mushroom chawan mushi.
I know they are probably fakes, made of rice or glass noodle  but they are quite tasteless 😐

 Crab stick sushi.
Looks like the real deal, taste like the real deal but are they? The one time I've had giant crab claws were back in my childhood. Remember Alaskan king crabs?? There are few restaurants carrying them but 💰💰💰

 Scallop trimming gunkan sushi.
For those who can't afford the whole thing 😂Though I have to say that scallop itself also don't have much of a taste. They depend on the ingredients and cooking method to bring out the best in them.

 Egg salad sushi because egg is life. Notice how the egg don't fill up to the top now?

Squid topped with mentaiko sushi.
One of those things that just melt in your mouth, leaving you wanting more.
