So many franchise has opened up in Mid Valley that it is difficult to try them all without going broke. Even more challenging is to try the food and blog about them before the business folds 😔In case if you can't locate this particular branch, NY Steak Shack also has one in One Utama. However, if you're hoping for some awesome steak, maybe give this place a pass.
For starters, the place is either packed or service is slow. It's true of this and the Sunway branch. Funnily enough, their customer demographic is rather limited to a very category of people. Perhaps it's the lack of alcohol and family-friendly vibes.
Honey chick salad RM 20.90: On top of a generous portion of our mesclun salad, you'll be delighted to find juicy, crunchy slices of chicken lightly fried to perfection, topped with your choice of salad dressing.
It does look rather rich, with all that dressing on top for a seemingly small portion. Turned out that it was good enough as a meal on its own. The ration of meat to salad is almost sad but it is a salad and not chicken with salad. The chicken wasn't very oily and surprisingly good. That's not my love of deep fried food speaking btw.
Coleslaw. Would you call this the Western version of Asian achar?
Made from scratch, the mayo was creamy enough to not mistaken it for KFC. If that doesn't do the job, the roughly chopped cabbage should. A good appetizer for my steak.
Rib eye steak RM 42.90
There's 2 sizes of meat to pick from, depending on your appetite along with 2side dishes. I picked the smaller one since this was more of a sampling lunch.
I didn't quite appreciate the meat as it tasted almost too soft. Not that it wasn't cooked enough nor do you want to overcook the beef to a rope, there just wasn't much of a texture. Don't mistaken it for baby food but definitely not quite steak.
A rather unimpressive lunch that warrants no return visit.
