What started off as a hipster cafe serving scones has now evolved into another Chinese cafe. Like there isn't enough of them already but not many people appreciates scones to begin with.
They were known for their scones and coffee. Come to think of it, how many places can you name that serves decent scone? Or at all?
We came here after the very slow and disappointing
lunch, hoping to make it up with some good dessert. Tea because coffee would have been damaging to sleep later.
Admittedly, despite hearing about them for years, I only got to try them much later, after the fad has died. Also because scones ain't my thing.
It came in two flavors: Orange with poppy seed and raisin.
You can bite into the seeds in the former while the latter is a bit sweeter. If you find that scones are too dry (in general like me), they provide cream and strawberry jam to. Both were indeed perfect to spread on the slightly flaky scone. I like it that they reheated the scones before serving, so you get a perfect contrast of the warm scone against the cold cream/jam.
Salted egg yolk croissant because again, I'm late to the game.
Sure, the filling is melting out. Sure, you can taste the salted egg yolk. But no, it's no where close to
this.
