Like Jaya Grocer, Village Grocer started off as a supermarket but decided to add F&B into their portfolio. Offering (half) freshly cooked food, they have quite a variety, from Asian to Western.

Beef bolognese at RM 10.90. The beef sauce is ready made but you can pick the type of pasta. I wanted fusilli since everyone likes serving it with normal spaghetti. Since the pasta was cooked to order, it was nice and warm. The sauce, on the other hand, was ready made which was at best room temperature. They didn't even bother to keep it heated or even warm, instead relying on the pasta's heat. Quite unfortunate because the sauce was really tasty with the minced beef.

 Braised lamb shank RM 26.90
When you have someone behind the counter, you would think that they would help to heat up the pre-prepared food. Well, they half did. The lamb was reheated in a proper pan with the fire on the stove, not microwave, mind you before plating. Sadly, the meat still felt cold. The mushroom sauce was all right, but doesn't pair very well with lamb.

Would I come back here again? Maybe for the pasta and try the chicken.
