Craving for some mushroom soup, I decided to try this place since we've already been to InHouse before.

Mushroom soup with French bun puff RM 14.90: whipping cream, shitake mushroom, shimeji mushroom, garlic, French puff.
I thought that it's served in a bowl with a layer of puff pastry on top but it's really a bread bowl of soup. The sticks of asparagus was a nice touch to the flavorful mushroom soup that you can actually taste the mushroom and not of the canned kind. Was it by design or a flaw, the bun was rather thick so the soup would leak out but it's the bread kind and not puff as its description suggest. Perhaps it'll be better if you use your hand to pull the bun puff apart as you finish the soup.Otherwise, the puff alone is too dry without any soup/sauce/gravy.

Black & white fish & chip RM 22.90: fried fish fillets with potato wedges and coleslaw.
One's tartar sauce, the orange one is (maybe) thousand island. The fish was nicely down, even the black one which isn't the consequence of bad frying, just a marketing gimmick.

Morning light RM 15.90: German sausages, smoked duck, scrambled eggs, cherry tomato, cheesy wedges
Notice the singular sausage because they halved it and made a cross out of them. And as someone who learns German religiously because she likes German sausage, I can most certainly assure that there's nothing remotely German about this sausage. Maybe Ayamas but even that would be exaggerating. Luckily, the smoked duck was nice. The wedges deserve a special mention for being hot and ultra crunchy 😍 Funnily enough, for a cake house, their toast was a bit too sweet for a bread.

Somehow, the meal felt like carb-loading because there wasn't enough protein to go around. But that's really my bad choice in life.
