Review: Sakae Sushi, Subang Parade

With so many outlets, Sakae Sushi has certainly made its presence felt with its cute green frog mascot. This particular outlet was rather empty though we were here for an early dinner.

The chawan mushi with salmon roe was disappointing due to its minuscule portion of roe. Sure, they are generous with the mushroom but that's like giving an amputee shoes.

Fish roe sushi. For some reason, I used to like such roes back then but lately found that they are quite boring and didn't give much of satisfaction.

Salmon roe sushi. This is like an upgrade because you can taste as each roe pop in your mouth. Almost orgasmic as it leaves behind a silvery salty trail behind.

Salmon sashimi and roe sushi. Freshly made, the crispy seaweed lent a raw twist to the salmon flavor. Good stuff.

Fish roe inari sushi or bean curd skin. I've never particularly like inari as they taste too sweet for my liking.

Deep fried shishamo was a disappointment because they weren't crunchy.

Deep fried vegetable because we need fiber to poop unless you want to literally be shooting poop. Quite a nice albeit unhealthy method to get the kids to eat more greens.

Butter fish sashimi. Thickly sliced freshness, I love the creamy flavor and you should too.

Unagi and cucumber roll. Sorry, not sure what's the other filling inside but it was crunchy. Just too sweet from the teriyaki sauce on the unagi.

Deep fried salmon skin and cucumber roll topped with salmon sashimi. The contrasting texture of the sashimi and skin is astounding. Like an explosion in the mouth.

Deep fried soft shell crab cucumber roll.

The cucumber does give it a different crunchy texture compared to seaweed. A rather nice fusion roll that's aesthetically pleasing but not so for you with crab claws jutting out of your mouth.
