Review: Restoran Idaman, Mutiara Damansara

Jalan PJU 7/12b,
Mutiara Damansara,
47800 Petaling Jaya
My last visit was well over 6years ago. Actually, this visit was also not so recent. But, given that they've been around for half a decade, I don't think it's likely they are closed down now with good midnight crowd and lunch fares of nasi lemak and keropok.

Sup tulang or bone soup. Quite literal as what you get is the beef bone cooked with a medley of sourish vegetables i.e. celery, tomato and onion. Not thick but definitely not light on the flavors.

The seafood tom yum, on the other hand, reeks of paste with every spoon. Perhaps, it's my preference for a clear version that this coconut milk type doesn't bode well for my taste bud.

Telur bistik is a clever way to  get kids to eat their vegetables with its cheeky sweet tomato sauce and deep fried egg.

The Malay version of char kway teow  is a puzzling one. Similar to what you get in night markets, it is quite wet. Again, not my cup of tea.

The one thing that stays the same beyond race would be the fried rice. Not that I was expecting it to be wet but hey, fried rice is the same regardless of who you pray to (or supposed to).
