Review: Selfie Coffee, Atria Shopping Gallery

Any self respecting coffee drinker would probably not step in here but because one of us wanted free flow of H2O and not wanting Artistry or Starbucks, I tagged along. But then again, it isn't as though my taste bud could properly discern good from bad coffee.

Cam-whoring Selfie has taken the world by storm, (no) thanks to technological advancement in mobile phones. As a self professed narcissist, you'd think that my heart would leap at the thought of drinking a coffee with my face imprinted right on top. But, no. It's weird. It's just ... wrong. If you like to see yourself that much, how would it be great to see your image wrinkle up?

Green tea latte RM 9.90. It looked pretty decent.

We had one selfie frappe but for obvious privacy reason, the picture isn't here. How it happens is:
  1. Place your order
  2. Pay
  3. Take a selfie using their iPhone
  4. Wait
  5. Enjoy... or cringe at the outcome.
I find it utterly weird but hey, whatever rocks your boat. Rest assured, the imprinted image is actually quite a precise replica of your selfie.

Hazelnut coffee RM 9.90: for a coffee joint that market itself exclusively to the narcissistic population, their coffee isn't too bad. Not as bitter as the usual hipster cafe blends, the price is slightly cheaper too. Sadly though, their caffeine shot isn't as strong either. Still, a good cuppa if I am really desperate.

Their current promotion is either a free minion cupcake or slice of cake at 50% discount. Being the el-cheapo, I opted for the former. It wasn't totally bad but certainly not something I'd part my hard earned money with. Sweet all over, the chocolate was of low quality. Texture wise, at least it was somewhat dry.

Carrot walnut RM 5.45 (usual price is RM 9.90)

Their cake fared slightly better. Love the airy, light texture. Not overly sweet but who still uses butter icing? Or maybe theirs is below par as you could literally taste the butter in it which is quite a waste because the cake was quite nice.

Total damage. Not as pricey as the usual cafes but may not be everyone's cup of tea coffee.
