When this mall reopened, with it came along renewed hope of rejuvenating this neighborhood. Not that it was dead to begin with but the entire place could certainly use something spanking new and that's exactly what Jaya Shopping Centre brought with it.

There are few different variations of ramen based on the location but one thing they have in common: pork. Somehow, as much as they differ, there is that ever present pork flavor. It is no joke that after you have a bowl of ramen, you'd immediately swear off pork. For a month.
But if you really do like your porcine, then it's a dream come true.

Noritama-Uma  RM29.00: Pork Flavoured shoyu soup "Ajitama" with thick-cut flamed chashu and seaweed.
One differentiating factor is how their pork is not only thick, juicy and fatty, they are charred around the edges. Unlike the Chinese char siew, there is nothing sweet about these as they are cooked until almost melted into the soup which is already super rich. I found the noodles to be a little limp for my liking.

The egg, on the other hand, was great as it benefited from the saltiness of the soup as its flavor seeped deep into it.And this isn't my love of egg speaking.

Gyoza RM11.00: Pan Fry Dumpling
The thin skin is lightly fried until slightly crunchy. The filling had a porky flavor which was great with the soy sauce.

Overall, this ramen is just a little too rich for me. It took me longer than a month to get over the pork taste.
