Most of you would have heard (if not tried) already cold brew coffee. If not, this post isn't going to educate you much on this dying hipster trend. As someone who still prefers old fashioned (cheap) coffee, my opinion is that these are just people trying to make big bucks for all you caffeine addicts and wannabes. Of course, I also happen to be someone who don't matter and don't quite give much rat's ass about coffee in general.

Instead of plain boring cold brew coffee which is really just ground coffee soaked in water overnight, nitro coffee is infused with, yes you guessed it right, nitrogen. Not having much of any expectation, I gamely accepted an invitation to try it out. Also didn't help that he was paying.
No, not him per say. It would be quite sad if he was and we sat at opposite sides of the cafe.

The first thing that struck me was how much it looked like a stout from the top. How's my flat lay picture? These pictures were taken using my Mi3 which does fairly well in bright areas.

There's even some fizz going on so it's like the paler cousin of the stout. Heck, taste wise, it can be the non-alcoholic version too. I didn't take mine with any milk or coffee, just taking it as it is to fully savor its flavors which turned out to be rather bitter. Even more bitter than I am as an unmarried 33 year old leftover Chinese woman.

This is probably going to appeal for those who likes a different kind of coffee, one without its rich, creamy texture. In a way, it did feel like drinking a carbonated drink, thanks to the nitrogen infusion.

We both weren't too impressed. Him more disappointed that it turned out somewhat flat. Me just puzzled why people pay so much for it.
