Review: Only Lovers Left Alive

This appeared in some must-watch movie list. I had not heard of it before but hey, there's Tom Hiddleston, so why not?

I've only seen Hiddleston in Thor where he played Loki, the god of mischief. Here, he plays a character that is the total opposite. It is nice to see him with such vulnerability. Tilda Swinton plays his more flamboyant lover. To be honest, as good as their acting and chemistry are, there were times when it is painful to watch them as lovers. Mia Wasikowska came in later to provide some comic relief which turns disastrous.

There are few other characters thrown throughout the movie with a rather mundane plot but there is no mistaking it is really about Swinton romancing Hiddleston. Oh and there is a shot of Swinton in the nude. Hiddleston? Yes, but they strategically covered his manhood. Not the kind of movie that'll leave you breathless but an unconventional love story.
