Review: Serdang Duck Ong Restaurant, Dengkil

For a place that has the name of a place in its name, it can get rather confusing. But I think this place originated from Serdang and gained fame there, hence it decided to open another branch in this god forsaken town.

My chrysanthemum tea that came pre-packed. A little too sweet but with a hint of ginseng.

Best thing with roast duck is oily rice which as its name implies, is slightly oily but not as oily as nasi dagang. You can ask for normal plain rice if you are that health conscious.  I try to eat healthy but once in a week, I do indulge. Like the best thing to go with roast meat is oily rice.
But then again, if you are that much of a health freak, you probably wouldn't be eating roast duck in the first place.

Or if rice is not your thing, they have noodles too. A rather small portion if you are a big eater.

Stewed tofu and egg. These were likely overcooked that they became a little harder than should be. The tofu especially was somewhat dried out.

Each order of duck comes with a free plate of vegetable. For that day, it was stir fried bean sprout with fried shallots in soy sauce with carrots. Very springy but nothing close to the famous Ipoh version. Very thin. Quite like the girls here.

Roast sweet pork and roast meat/pork. Both of which were pretty good though the former was more fatty. All the better eh?

Although it was only me and two other guys, we ordered one whole duck because one of them could probably eat a quarter of it himself. It came with a complimentary plate of blanched lettuce which were fresh (and not pictured here because I was too busy tucking into the food then). Honestly, the only thing running through my mind then was "duck, duck, duck!!! ".

Fortunately, it wasn't a let down either. The meat was delicious though tad bit fatty under the skin. Only complaint is the skin wasn't crispy.

This is the typical roast duck where the meat has that pungent taste to it which some people may find slightly foul.
