Review: Sushi Tei, Tropicana City Mall

Although Sushi Tei's entry onto Malaysian shores were late compared to the overly commercialized Sushi King and now-getting-there Sushi Zanmai, Sushi Tei has been doing rather well by offering a slightly more high class version of the conveyor belt sushi. If Sushi Tei is the place you'd bring your steady girlfriend to, Zanmai would be where you should wine & dine your prospectus girlfriend. Sushi King would be for those who don't know better and you are just trying to get into bed.

I've always liked this but never really order it because it's quite pricey. Baked scallop with spicy mayo. I believe the mayo is mixed with mentaiko, resulting into a rich and creamy sweet gravy that complements the scallop very well.

While the scallop itself was really nothing to shout about (quite small compared to the shell size), the gravy truly stole the show here. If I was eating it at home, I'd probably have licked it off.
