Review: Medan Selera KK Nasi Ayam, Kepong Baru

 No 1 Jalan Kepong Baru,
52200 Kepong Baru

It took me awhile to look up the name of this place despite having retain the receipt. Why do people assume that everyone/anyone who dines in a Chinese restaurant is capable of reading Chinese? -_- But then, they were smart enough to put in the English translation as well for their receipt so why not their restaurant name as well? Sigh. The struggles of being a banana.

The place is a rather homely restaurant run by a family (I suspect). The waiters looked underaged enough for the authorities to sweep in and scream child labour.
Unless if anyone above 12  is allowed to.

Salted chicken RM 17 (half portion).

It isn't difficult to see that this is their signature dish. Executed fairly well, you get the texture of ayam kampung  and it's something that you either like or hate. Growing up,  I wasn't quite fond of it. More tolerant of it now but probably don't appreciate it as much as the hard core chicken lover. Taste was rather spot on without being overly salty. If only it wasn't as dry.

Stir fried kangkung RM 8
One of my favorite greens (the first being cash), this was simple but hearty. Maybe the portion helped too.

Shrimp omelet RM 9
tg certainly has something for omelet as it's something which he orders majority of the time. Well, as an egg lover, it's not exactly a complaint. This one was almost deep fried, as evident by how oily it was but that meant crispy edges and translate to deliciousness.
