The place that started the salted egg croissant few years ago, Le Bread Days tried to break into the Subang market yet failed. At least their PJ branch is still operational and seems to be doing OK even if nobody is queuing up for anything these days.

Remember how people are always in a queue for anything few years ago? Hello Kitty toys, Minion toys, croissants, bubble tea. If only they can do the same for train and bus rides.

Although it's a bakery, they do have a quarter of the shop space dedicated to customers who decide to eat there over a cup of tea or coffee. Not wanting to go overboard, I ordered the Gryphon Earl Grey Lavender tea. From its site:
A long time classic well-loved by many, this delicate black tea needs no introduction. Feeling a little under the weather today? Relax your senses with this fragrant black tea blend. Let its bold floral top notes and vibrant citrus flavours help soothe. Don't forget to have some warm scones or fluffy chiffon cake on standby
It contains Black tea with oil of Bergamot, Lavender flowers. Strangely for a black tea, it's not as strong bodied as the usual earl grey. Delicate is quite the word. You can taste a hint of the lavender even from a whiff of it.

Undeterred by the previous sub-par experience, I decided to order the salted egg croissant. After all, this is the one thing that they should be able to maintain all these years.
If you're not a fan of salted egg, they have other flavors too e.g. durian, chocolate. Whether they come with the same melting effect, that I'm not sure.

After ordering, they reheated it before serving. This made the filling all warm and oozing as you cut to the middle of it. No clumpy bits, flavors were good. I can most certainly understand now why people were willing to go to lengths just for it. Fortunately for me, I'm always a little late to the game so no queuing required now.
