Unwinding into 34: Where the money rolls

Pangkor Laut Resort sits on an island itself. As such, the island is open only to hotel guests. However, that doesn't mean that you can look at it from afar like some sad peasant.

Our boat ride's first stop was here, to let us feel the power of money. The tour guide never fails to tell us how poor we are indirectly by providing us with the different room rates here that go all the way up to 10grand.

Water chalets for the perfect private getaway. It's not built in the same design as Sepang Gold Coast but I think this has more substance. For starters, the water here is clearer.

One of the things that the hotel provide you once checked in is a 4G Yes wireless dongle. I don't know how bad the signal here is since that looks very much like a communications tower to me.Speaking about mobile signal, Maxis, UMobile and Celcom had strong 4G as soon as we reached Lumut. Surprising as my Celcom can be quite slow in Klang Valley itself.

More water chalets, more reasons to work harder.

Do you think the guests would jump into the water from their chalet balcony? Is that even allowed?

As you get closer to the island, the water gets clearer and you can dead corals. Quite unfortunate.

Fancy a seaside villa instead? Cheaper than the water chalet.

The good thing is that the service you get for the amount you paid is (supposedly) all encompassing. It starts when you get to Lumut where they'll take you to the island directly and greet you by name. How's that for a personalized service? But if I paid you almost 1grand, you better know my name by heart.
