Although Kepong isn't that faraway from PJ, there isn't the need to go all the way there when there's a branch in SS2. However, the Kepong branch has a more vibrant atmosphere and you get to view the food on display. The only downside is it's by the main road, open air and so you're subjected to the assault of car horns, fumes and the likelihood of being rammed down by drunk drivers.
But, isn't that typical of the Malaysian dining scene?
The place was crowded with people of all ages, the older ones bringing the younger ones. Some for dessert, some for a full meal. Yes, you can have an entire meal here if you try hard enough. Whether it's satisfying or healthy, that's a different question altogether.
Red bean dessert. It was thick with traces of sago. Sweet as expected. I used to like this until (almost) every Chinese banquet dinner started serving it as the dessert that it felt too much.
Mango shaved iced. Is that actual mango puree or did they use some sort of artificial flavoring? I don't know for sure nor do I really care because mango ain't my thing.
Honeydew shaved ice with sago. I like this because naturally, it's not that sweet but they were generous with the syrup that pooled at the bottom. This is the best thing to have during those hot nights.
