Tea & croissant: The Most Magical Place in the World, Parc Disneyland

Having visited one icon of the city, I knew another one was in order.  My schedule had one day available and it was either this or Versailles. It was a close call but the most magical place on earth won at the end of the day because I figured I would have seen enough castles (or old buildings) for a single trip.

There is a train that goes to the park. The journey took almost an hour as it is quite far from the city. In case if you are wondering, the train is just a normal train, no special theme or hidden Mickey to be spotted like the Hong Kong train.

The best way to enjoy a day trip here is to come early in the morning. It opens at 10.30am though some times earlier depending on the season. Do check out their website as you can even purchase the tickets online by first checking on their season calendar. There are certain dates when it's cheaper.

The queue took about 30minutes but the people were just happy to be there.
I think this is probably like the miracle parents had been waiting for. Imagine being able to place your kids in there so that you don't have to hear them complaining about standing/walking.The website says no outside food/drinks allowed but they aren't that strict with it. Water bottles are fine and there are water fountains available throughout the park though you may need to hunt a bit for them.

As for bag/luggage, I would suggest a small backpack or something that you can close tightly and not too bulky. There is no locker service here but they do allow you to bring your bag with you on rides.

 Welcome to Parc Disneyland!

During my research, the common advice was that it's almost impossible to cover the park in just one day. So they recommend staying at the hotel as you not only save on traveling time, the hotel guests are also entitled to earlier access i.e. the park is open to them before the official opening hours.

There is essentially 2 parks. We opted for Disneyland Park instead of Walt Disney Studio because it was bigger. I was slightly worried about not having enough to explore that we'd end up bored there.

A mini band welcomed us the guests.

The railroad station greeted us first. It didn't look terribly exciting so gave it a pass for later. Somehow, later never arrived because we were too late 😫

Giving it a leisurely pace, we explored the Main Street U.S.A which is really a mini town center before going into the more specialized areas of the park.

As expected, most of them are selling gifts and souvenirs.

Movie merchandise of everything from Disney. Do you have the money to buy them all though?

There's something for everyone because Disney don't want anyone to go home empty handed and everyone to have something. So everyone gets to be happy except for the one who's paying.

I haven't watched Disney channel or movies (not that I know which) in awhile but it's nice that they feature most of the classic instead of their newer offerings.

It was truly a magical place even for someone as jaded and cynical as me.

The kids would definitely go crazy here but the security and crowd here are relatively civilized so it's OK. Don't worry about your child(ren) being kidnapped and sold as slaves.

If you do intend to buy something to bring home, you can buy and pick it up later but I think it's best to buy it before you leave the park.
