Review: Formosa, Sunway Pyramid

Initial plan was to look for Pepper Lunch but we couldn't find it so ended up at this joint instead. It had been awhile since I had a decent oyster mee sua and their signage looked delicious.

Lo bak spinach noodle RM 8.50
Don't be scared by the word spinach there because it didn't taste anything at all like it. If anything, it's just a bowl of usual Chinese dry noodles. I quite like the non-thick soy sauce gravy used. Quite tempted to steal more but not my bowl so only had a spoonful for taste testing purpose and it passed rather well.

Oyster mee sua set with braised tofu and egg.
The noodles were decent though it doesn't quite compare to Shilin's, it tastes pretty all right. They gave 3 oysters which is not too bad considering that you only pay less than RM 15 for this set.

The tofu is deep fried tofu skin, not the firm steamed type. It soaked up the gravy rather nicely but carefully not to spray it out when you bite into it.

The braised egg deserves a special mention. Not just because eggs are my favorite, this one has some fancy pattern going on. Probably due to it being cooked too long at different intervals, hence the discoloration. Not a complaint though since it meant that the egg has really absorbed the herb taste. The chili garlic is powerful enough to make you embarrassed to kiss your date so spare them that please.
