What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Ante Cafe? The pork steak but I think their cafe offerings deserve a mention too. While it's not cheap, they are currently running a promotion of buy a cake, get a drink at RM 10 or something like that. Yea, it's a smaller cup but you get what you pay for.

I tried their burnt cheesecake to go with the cappuccino. Unfortunately, the cake didn't quite make it for me. For starters, it was only the mid part that was near melting. The rest is almost like a normal cheese cake but not dense enough to pass as one. Still prefer Huckleberry's.

Bailey dark chocolate cake ~RM 18. Looks deceivingly like a tiramisu but nope, sink your teeth into it and there's the unmistakable chocolate mousse. It's easy to say that this cake is sweet if not for that Bailey's which is quite powerful that it does give you a buzz. The candied chop nuts are also great for when you have too much of chocolate going on.

 Seafood stew ~RM39
2 mussels, some squid, few shrimps and oyster mushroom made to look deceivingly like scallop in a buttery white cream sauce. Served with those slices of toasted bread, they were the perfect companion to dip into the stew. A word of advice, dig in ASAP while it's still pipping hot. Not that it turns into this oily mush when cooled but hot is best.

The initial few mushroom that I took tasted so stale, that it reminded me of old unwashed gym socks that I had to force myself to finish them. The stew only aggravated matters with its richness. Switching focus to the shrimp was a good idea and it turned out that those initial mushroom were plain bad as the rest were a-ok.

 Country stew ~RM33: Braised, hearty pork stew with mixed vegetables and polenta.
Certainly hearty though not as rich as the seafood stew, this one has a lighter taste with more veggies featured. Pork was cooked until just tender. Not very fatty so it did get a wee bit tough.
