Thyme Out, Bandar Utama

The latest addition to BU Centerpoint, this one is a fairly small setup with half the shop used for the kitchen. So they could only accommodate very small parties (think 2). While they are no Las Carretas, they did have a rather good following in their previous shop

When we first dropped by, the place was so new that they still had that sterile feel to it. So much so that teething issues were evidently around. It was a 2man show, one full time cook, the other part time cook/cashier. As the food was made to order, you are guaranteed freshness. Sadly, that also meant having to wait for your food to be served. My chicken quesadillas came first. It was barely holding itself up and because it was hot, you have to really be careful not to burn yourself while having it. Not quite the best story to tell in the ER.

The cheese was melting but compared to Chili's, I wonder which is more authentic as Chili's version had both the tortillas stuck with the cheese serving as the glue. Thyme's version had the filling all falling from left right center. It came with lots of bite size bell pepper and meat but the need of having to handle it properly certainly marred the experience.

Not pictured here was the crispy taco with chicken. This took forever to arrive that I didn't want to stop the hungry man from devouring it. Such a waste as the taco did have a nice salsa going on and I would like to try it, if only ever.
