If not for their buy-one-free-one promo, I wouldn't have bothered to come here. Back in their heydays, their cakes were all the rage. After awhile, more cake shops pop up offering better quality and sometimes, value for money.

The promo is for selected items only. Since Secret Recipe isn't my usual dinner/lunch joint, I can't say if the portion is smaller than usual. However, I would say that the portion isn't too small.

 Spicy shrimp aglio olio.
What they lack of in quantity, they made up for with quality. Only three shrimps but there were some mushrooms. In terms of spiciness, I wouldn't label it as being mild. Maybe medium.

Japanese curry and fried chicken cutlet rice. This was one that did look painfully little. There isn't much to complain about the chicken aside from its size. Curry was substantial but not enough of potatoes and carrot to go around. All else, it was what you'd expect from a typical Japanese curry: not spicy, more sweet.
