 Do you recall when Dave's Deli first started? This was at a time when there wasn't much (or any cafe). So, it was kinda like a special treat to be having a meal here. Fast forward to today, it's no longer the cafe that's synonymous with special dates. There are just too many of them hipster cafes these days to keep up with that Dave's Deli seem a little dated. If you want somewhere more hip, give their newer joint a try instead.

 Original Roast chicken chop
The one dish that catapulted them to the spotlight, what's not to like about chicken that's been marinated in a blend of spice long enough that you can taste it deep in the flesh after it's been roasted till cooked thoroughly? Nothing except that you can get that at any other cafes nowadays.
It's not bad, just that there isn't anything extraordinary to set it apart. Great if you want a simple homely roast chicken. Bad if you're expecting something more.

Beef rissole
Grilled minced beef patty with a whole lotta sides because there ain't enough meat to satisfy one. Of course, it's great that you get a very healthy platter with all that greens. The mushroom gravy isn't shabby either with the patty. A little more exciting that the chicken chop.
