If you like Arab food surrounded by jailbaits, head over to Oregi during dinner time. Due to its proximity to colleges, you'll have more than enough options to see which would be worth the jail time.Just kidding. But the crowd here is on the younger side that I felt old coming after here toting my work bag in my somewhat work attire.
Nothing like minty coolers on those hot summer days. Actually, who am I kidding? It's always summer here that it isn't even worth mentioning. Still, these were great as you can taste the mint in them. Not overly sweet.
Lamb Haneeth kabsa rice: braised NZ lamb in foil with Arabic herbs and spices, salad, Arabic chili sauce, lamb broth. Served with long grain basmati rice
What's not to like about lamb that's being braised long enough in its own juice with spices that the meat is just falling off the bones?
And when they use the slightly fatty parts, it's heavenly as the juice from the fat together with the spices make everything so right. If you still find that it's not moist enough, there's the light lamb soup that'll make the rice not so dry. The salad was very refreshing and light, in contrast to the flavorful lamb. Have them with the chili sauce which is really a spiced up tomato salsa.
Moussaka: Arabic steamed egg with minced lamb and onion
I've had moussaka before and it was nothing remotely like this. Overcooked, dry and definitely downright sad case. Not sure if this is their usual or it was my misfortune.
If you don't want to drive all the way to Cyberjaya, this is a good place for some Middle East food.
