If this place sounds familiar, that's because you may know about their other more famous sibling.Fortunately, the crowd is more manageable and you don't need to wait or stand outside for a table. Parking, though, is probably a bigger challenge.

So, is the food here as good as the original? Stir fry fern is something that I like to order when it's on the menu because it's such a rarity. This one used an older plant so there were more stalks which were too fibrous to chew. We opted for a non-spicy style, a little salty.

Pan fried tofu topped with minced pork. Nothing extravagant here, you get a simple dish that's perfect for the kids and rice.

Pork belly braised with yam.
The yam was soft enough to poke through while the pork was definitely thru and thru soft. You can taste the fat melting in your mouth. Again, best to have with rice.

Vietnamese style steamed fish.
Based on the experience who's been to Vietnam often enough, there was nothing remotely Vietnamese about this dish 😅 Maybe because it's slightly sour and spicy at the same time. Interesting dish.
