Passing by the futuristic looking convention hall, it's hard not to be impressed by the white facade. The size alone is of sheer amazement. As to how Calvary Church managed to build such an impressive building, I don't know because I belong to that house of God but maybe this? Of course, that is nothing, nothing compared to Singapore's City Harvest Church. The cafe is located within the center itself. You can park within the compound, just tell the guard you're here for food.
Spicy aglio olio with egg
While I wouldn't say that this was bad, it wasn't very remarkable either. At least the pasta was cooked right. The egg yolk was still runny. Truthfully, this tasted like something I could whip up from my kitchen 😄
Aglio olio smoked duck RM 21: Tossed with olive oil & basil leaf, garlic, bell peppers, sundried tomatoes and caramelized smoked duck
Of the many renditions of this simple pasta, I hand the title of weirdest one to this plate. They put in a wee bit too much of basil in there that it overpowered everything else.
Mushroom carbonara risotto RM18This was a bit of a surprise. Slightly clumpy but hearty from the cheese and egg yolk, it was very good while still hot. A vegetarian dish too if you're looking for such.
Rebecca RM 18: Filled with strawberries, blueberries & bananas, topped with homemade earl grey ice cream which well blended with almond flakes, coconut flakes and maple syrup
Waffles that look pretty is what made The Owls famous in the first place. But do they taste as good as they look? Actually, yes! 😉The fruits were fresh and the flakes do give the dessert a bit of a twist with a nutty flavor. As for the ice cream, it was our first time trying that flavor. Not overly sweet and good with the berries. Waffles were crunchy and light.
I would say come for the waffles, not the pasta.
