XXXIII: Lets eat cake

A birthday without a cake doesn't quite feel like a birthday. Hence, we decided to hit the nearest bakery we could walk to and bought me some cake. To be honest, I didn't know that it was an ultra post bakery as it was a kiosk inside a mall. The prices were fairly reasonable (though my brain was still foggy during the first days when it comes to currency conversion). Only after they handed us the cakes in this bag that I was a little embarrassed 😳 Anyway, cake is cake and it's not like we didn't pay for it.

However, there wasn't any place nearby to sit nor was there any park so we resorted to sitting right outside the mall by the main road near a busy junction. As you may imagine, it was not the best place to leisurely enjoy anything, what more eating. Fortunately, the guards didn't chase us away and the weather was somewhat permitting. Had it been in KL, my cake would have ended up soaking in all the smog T_T

German cheese tart. Baked cheese cake.
The tart wasn't very cheesy nor milky. It also didn't happen to be overly sweet and while it loses on the looks department, it certainly was miles better than this pudding well. My cheese cake was simple but delicious affair. With a crumbly top on the edges, the same crumbs are used for the crust at the bottom. This, as expected, was cheesier but not overpowering.

While there are many other bakeries and cake shops in Taipei, do drop by Yannick in the off chance that you stumble upon one and stare in awe at all their beautiful cakes.
