Book#Oct2016: Snakes in Suits by Paul Babiak & Robert D. Hare

I got to know about this book while stalking reading someone's social media. He was one of those seemingly rempit dude but throws in some gems such as this once in awhile that it makes me wonder if he's one of those modern Malay hiding underneath a rempit persona to blend in with his fellow abangs. Anyway, I've lost of sight of him after the somewhat mutual friend erased every trace of him. Girls can be quite efficient and effective at cleaning out traces of their ex. But the internet never forgets.

After laying my hands on the (virtual) copy, the reading came rather naturally. Although it's a non-fiction, there is a fictional story interlaced in the books to show examples and further illustrate the points. Given its rather dry nature, the authors did a commendable effort in making it less so. This isn't a book that'll be easy to finish at a go but there are certain sections which your mind begs to know what happens next.

With my new found knowledge on psychopaths, I feel less inclined to call someone that because it would take a person who is completely devoid of anything but himself. Feelings are a foreign territory to them though they are perfectly capable of acting out the human emotions that society calls for in any given situation which makes them even scarier.

So, you may end up not calling your psycho boss who gives you endless job something else. Like asshole.
