Movies: Burnt (2015)

If Chef is for the masses, Burnt would appeal to the high brows. Yes, since I'm on a roll for movies that tell you to quit your job and chase your dreams, this seems like a good next contender.

Bradley Cooper plays a down and out chef who had been there and done that before he failed. When he finally makes amend, he tries to redeem himself in a more spectacular manner than before. Sienna Miller is really unrecognizable but the movie itself is really about Cooper. I don't want to spoil the movie (too much) but some of her scenes and story were really unnecessary. It's like fan service which this movie didn't need. But then again, sex sells.

The scenes are beautifully placed with food being the theme. The plot is also equally as good and rather riveting. While Chef focuses on a wholesome family vibe, Burnt focuses on a single man's passion to redeem himself to the world he once abandoned.
